Things to Know

What are LED lights and do they save energy?
All ENLIGHTEN LED products are energy saving. They will reduce your energy consumption by up to 70% and require less maintenance. Replacing ballasts will be a thing of the past.

What are the benefits of converting to LED bulbs?

  • Better and higher quality light dispersion, lower maintenance, and lower cost of operation.
  • An immediate reduction in your electricity bill.
  • Less heat. LED lighting products are extremely efficient converting electricity into light.
  • LED lights last longer. A good quality LED light bulb can last from 50,000 – 100,000 hours.
  • Highly recyclable - with no hazardous parts or materials like mercury. You can recycle LEDs easily.

Why are your LED lighting tubes better than other manufacturers?
ENLIGHTEN retrofit LEDs eliminate the need for the ballast. They have an isolated driver which produces more power, while reducing problems caused by overheating or surges.

What is the most common reason LEDs fail?
Heat is the enemy of electronics. The hotter it is the shorter the life of the light. ENLIGHTEN product overcomes this problem by designing the driver and the LED tube to disperse the heat of over a larger area, thereby protecting the integrity of the electronic components.

Will the light levels decrease over the life of the bulb?
Yes. They will fade as the bulb gets near the end of its normal operating life. But it is very gradual and hardly noticeable as individual diodes fail. This is called lumen degradation and is the amount of time the light takes to get to 70% of the initial lumen output.

Are LED lights hazardous?
Unlike fluorescent tubes which have small amounts of mercury, and PCBs, LEDS are non-toxic.

Are your bulbs certified?
Unless otherwise noted ENLIGHTEN LED lights and bulbs are UL and DLC certified.

What is lighting-as-a-service?
Lighting-as-a-Service (LaaS) transfers your lighting needs including maintenance, design, ongoing technology upgrades and even cost control into a service that can be managed. As lighting becomes more advanced you will be able to digitally control and manage climate and security. These improvements to performance, information management and more comfort will even help control expenses. As the first step in that process, ENLIGHTEN by Century will help you retrofit and upgrade your existing lighting to LED.

What is the warranty?
ENLIGHTEN LED lights and tubes are warrantied to be free from defects in materials and manufacturing for a period of 7-years. If the product fails within the warranty period, we will send you a free replacement. The warranty does not cover damage caused by abuse, misuse, improper environmental conditions, incorrect installation or shipping damage.

Who do I call if there is a problem?
ENLIGHTEN by Century or any of our authorized representatives.

What permits or professional services do I need to install LED lighting?
Generally speaking, permits are not needed for retrofitting ENLIGHTEN LED tubes in existing fixtures. However, check with your local authority for what's allowable according to regulations.

How do you determine what light I will need?
Initially, we conduct a thorough survey of your facilities to determine needs. We will also talk with you and your staff to identify specific issues. We will then outline a detailed proposal including costs and timing that gets presented to you for review and approval.

What color temperatures are available for your LED retrofit tubes?
Lights are available in a variety of color temperatures (kelvin) in both clear and frosted. In most commercial applications, our research shows that daylight colors are preferred. In fact, customers tell us that they believe fewer errors are made and workers are more productive using the daylight colors.

Will I need to replace existing fixtures?
Assuming existing equipment is in good repair when installing ENLIGHTEN LED bulbs, it is not necessary to replace fluorescent light fixtures. However, depending upon the application it may make sense to replace your existing lighting configuration.
